This is my first post here and I would be appreciative should you provide me with helpful input.
First thing first; I majored in finance and I am passionate about valuation and deals and especially to launch a career at Big 4. My current situation now is that I have to build experience for next years application for one of these roles.
I hear that it is quite common to transfer from audit to a corporate finance arm. In my country of residence, it is mandatory to have majored in accounting (having pursued certain business law courses) in order to be eligible for an audit role, hence not a feasible option for a finance major as myself. I might have an upcoming offer for a financial accounting advisory role instead and I am wondering if this role could give me the needed experience to transfer into transaction advisory and/or corporate finance, the same way as audit?
